Snowbunny cupcake

Yes, thatsITmommy loves hand made products! We were excited when Pola from hopeNdew contacted us about Plush February. hopeNdew is a one-woman shop that makes Amigurumi cup cakes! Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. Her character cupcakes are the smallest plushies featured this month. But they’re full of spunk!

Pola is the lady behind the sweet cupcakes. She’s a 30-year-old recent nursing school graduate, as well as a housewife and is currently looking for a full time job. She learned how to crochet after graduating from college. Crocheting came easy to her and was inspired by her love of cupcakes! Pola’s friends supported her newfound love and encouraged her to open an ETSY page. Viola! hopeNdew was born!

hopeNdew offers cute cupcakes dressed as kitties, pumpkins and other delightful characters. They are weighted with beans or are stuffed with child friendly polyfill. Cupcakes sell for $9 and monthly specials are offered. Pola generously created two custom cupcakes for the I.T. girls. Our logo inspired her custom design. They arrived nicely packaged with a note card! The cupcakes on her site look petite and dainty. I was surprised to receive two life-sized cupcakes! The delicious cupcakes are approximately 3”x 3”x3” and the custom ponytails and stars are nice touches! The quality is excellent and the workmanship is perfect. The girls love their cupcakes. I requested a special cupcake for our thatsIT Friend Adeline. She loves hers as well! (see pics below of the girls).

Stop by Pola’s hopeNdew Etsy store for a “taste test”. This Amigurumi chef is up for custom orders! You’ll want to check her bakery from time to time for specials so make sure you favorite her while you’re browsing.
