Valentine Craft by Erika & Adeline

As you can see I am big on hand print crafts. I think they make great keepsakes and cards for grandparents.

Level:

Easy

Supplies:

- Paint and brush

- Thick paper or card stock

- Glitter (I found some glitter glue with hearts at Michaels)

- Your Childs hands

Instructions:

Paint your child’s hand with the color of your choice. We chose red and blue. Then place your child’s hand on the paper at an angle with the other overlapping but angled the opposite way.  This creates a heart shape.  You can either outline the heart or just paint it with glitter.  We did this on card stock and then glued a special Valentine photo to the inside of the card for our own home made Valentines!

I love it. I made a hand and foot turkey card for the grandparents this Thanksgiving and couldn’t think of what to do for other holidays. I am going to have to try it.

Aren’t handprints fun? I teach a class based on a curriculum we teach at my preschool. We do handprints at least once a month for everything under the sun! Our students love it.
By the way…found you on twitter moms!

Such a great idea! My daughter loves getting her hands dirty (just as long as I’m there to clean them right away!). This will be fun to add to our “art project” rotation.
