Review & Giveaway: BlaBla dolls

BlaBla means nothing and everything…

Blabla was started in 2001 when two friends, Susan Pritchett and Florence Wetterwald traveled to Peru. The discovered an entire village of expert knitters and decided to create their own line of knitted products for children. Starting with sweaters and hats, the products now include dolls, rattles, backpacks, tees, mobiles and blankets.

Adeline was lucky enough to receive one of these awesome knit dolls to review. We were sent a mini-Josephine the Elephant 12-inch super soft knit plush. As soon as arrived, Adeline fell in love. She prefers to just call it her blabla doll instead of Josephine. I guess it is just a little more fun to say! Josephine is a 12″ tall gray elephant who wears a crown and pink and white tutu plus pink ballet slippers. Like all of the other blabla dolls, Josephine is made from natural fibers of exceptional quality grown in Peru making Josephine one of the softest most cuddly dolls that Adeline has! These dolls are great for all ages. They are all one piece with no removable parts and soft enough for a tiny baby to cuddle with. The collection is designed by Florence and knitted by Peruvian artisans. “Working with the artisans has been challenging, inspiring exhilarating and hilarious. Upsetting at times but never boring and always rewarding”. BlaBla takes pride in it’s fair trade ethics and genuine commitments.

The mini doll collection retails for an average of $34 each. You can purchase the larger style (18 inches) for $44 and the giant dolls (as big as your child) starting at $130. The price seemed a little high to me at first but after considering all the work that goes into these dolls and the way that Adeline loved it, prices seemed reasonable. These are the type of dolls that your child (boy or girl) can cherish forever. The colors are bright and there are a variety of animals, fairies and even little knit baby girls and boys. You can also purchase knit clothing for your Blabla dolls. You can check out these awesomely cute products by visiting http://www.blablakids.com.
