Review & Giveaway: Mom of Three Monkeys

I love bags and having a toddler has made it a necessity to always carry a bag!  You never know when you are going to need a Band-Aid, snack or small toy to keep your child occupied.  While searching Etsy, I came across a shop called Mom of Three Monkeys which features handmade bags, pouches and wallets.

Mom of three Monkeys is actually a mom of 3 (surprised?) named Davianna who lives in Hawaii.  Davi is a stay at home mom who started her Etsy shop to help out with the bills that come with living in “Paradise”. Davi chose the Large Pleated Handbag described as “a great roomy handbag to send to me for a review. This bag is made in a beautiful 100% cotton oriental fabric. The lining is also cotton and very soft to touch. This bag has a zipper closure. I thought it would take a while to get here coming from Hawaii but it arrived within days.  I instantly transferred all of my items to the bag and they all fit!!  The fabric is a very pretty print for everyday use.  I loved the fact that there were smaller pockets inside where I could put my cell phone because I hate always having to dig around for it when it is ringing! Also, the zipper closure means no spills when I toss my bag around or Adeline decides to take it and run off with it (a great game).  I usually carry a “bag”. This is more of a purse and I really like it. It has cut down on the amount of stuff  that I carry on a daily basis!

We asked Mom of three Monkey’s (Davianna) some questions:

What do you love about your mom?

I love my Mom’s hard working spirit. She never lets any thing get her down. About 10 years ago she had knee surgery and it went bad. Her leg is no the same as before but she doesn’t let it get her down. She teaches quilting in the local high schools adult ed classes as well as teaching from home. She has quite a following of ladies. I hope I can be like her when I get older.

What do you love about being a mom?

I love a lot of things about being a mom. I think I just love the fact that I was blessed with 3 healthy and happy kids. In 1999 I was diagnosed with lupus and I was told I could never have children. One year later to my amazement I became pregnant with my first child. Now today I have my 3 monkeys. My little blessings.

What or who inspired you to start your own business?

Well, my kids and my Husband.

What advice do you have for women who are afraid to start their own ventures?

Do what you can. If you have a talent for making something and you want to make some money, try it out by doing something small (local craft fairs, internet,etc.). You”ll never what you can do unless you give it a try.
