I’m sure mommy and daddy’s cameras are intriguing to most children but I cringe at the idea of Teagan handling and then dropping my camera OR deleting my images!
My Real Digital Camera by Little Tikes is a fun camera for young budding photographers. This lightweight and simple camera is geared for kids 3 years and up. My Real Digital Camera in pastel colors offers basic features and it comes with a handy neck strap.
The picture quality isn’t great since the resolution is only .3 mega pixels but I feel these toys/cameras are more of a learning tool for the little ones. The buttons are big for little fingers and it’s easy to scroll through the pictures. The camera holds an impressive 64MB of images and is equipped with a built in flash. The camera has a dual viewfinder which comes in handy since most kids this age have not mastered closing one eye. I do wish the The LCD screen was a little larger. It can be hard seeing the images but Teagan hasn’t complained about it. The only real cons was that I had a hard time putting the battery cover back on (camera takes 4 “AAA” batteries which are not Included) and that the My Real Digital Camera is PC compatible. I have a MAC but I was able to download pictures onto a friend’s PC. The download process was super easy.
Teagan has enjoyed using the camera. She figured out the basic features on her own and loves to take it along with her on our family excursions (just like mommy!). You can see a couple of her pictures here.
