I am a Virgo which means I am supposed to be very organized. Sadly this is not the case. I have always tried to be but just can’t seem to get it right. So once again as the New Year approached I decided to put a conscious effort into getting organized in 2011. One of my biggest problems is lack of closet space. We do not have a single closet on the first floor of our house. I am pretty sure that they wore coats in the early 1900’s so, where the heck did they hang them? I am excited to say that I have found a great company that is making my organizing goal way more attainable. It is called Bungalow Home of Scout tote bins, storage bins, travel bags and so much more.
The Scout Line, founded in 2004, is created by Deb Johns. “Deb combines her experience at Vogue as an assistant fabric and color editor, her role as a professional colorist and trend forecaster plus her understanding of fashion trends to create the vibrant, distinctive looks found in the Scout Collection.” I think she does and amazing job! What started out with a tote bag has grown to include a full collection of products. The people at Bungalow were awesome enough to send me three items from their storage line to review. All of the products are available in a variety of patterns ranging from fun to classic. Each item also bears the Scout Logo with an image of Deb’s pet Dachsund, Scout. Each of the storage bins I received are collapsible for easy handling and storage, water resistant and (huge bonus) wipe clean. The names are all quirky and fun. Everyone is sure to find a favorite.
Junque Trunk (Graceline Stripe pattern)
Junque Trunk: This is a 24 in.(W) x 15in (H) collapsible open top bin. I received it in the Graceline Stripe pattern, which is my favorite pattern they sell. The Junque Trunk comes flat and is zipped together to transform into a really generous sized bin. I have so many throw blankets and pillows in my living room and I never know where to put them. It drives me crazy. The Junque Trunk is my solution. All of the blankets, pillows and Pillow Pets fit perfectly. The striped pattern looks great with our decor. So much better than a typical plastic bin. I am already thinking of purchasing another one for my entry way as a place for everyone to throw their shoes when they come in the door. The Junque Trunk retails for $40 which I think is a great price for the quality and design.
Hang Ten (Vine of Times pattern)
Hang Ten: is a 12.25in.(W) x10.5in.(H) x9in.(D) is a collapsible desk storage bin. It is sized to fit hanging files or other desk top clutter. I received this bin in a brown and teal design called “Vine of the Times”. It is really a great size to fit many things but I decided to use it for Adeline’s blocks (we have so many). This was the perfect size for her new Bristle Blocks. She can easily pick it up by the two handles and put it away when she is done. This bin retails for $20.
Trash Cache (Eager Weaver Natural Print)
Trash Cache: measures 15in.(W) x24in.(H) x15in.(D) and is marketed as a collapsible trash bin perfect for outdoor gatherings. There are clips on each side that will prevent a trash bag from slipping as it fills. I received this in the Eager Weaver Natural print which matches the color of the walls in hallway perfectly! I chose to use it as a laundry bin instead of trash can. It is large enough for most (some!) of our laundry and looks great in my hall. The Trash Cache retails for $42.
These storage bins have actually made me excited about organizing my house! I love the patterns and the fact that they are nice enough to be displayed as part of the decor. If you are having a hard time with clutter or are trying to figure out where to put all your kids toys this is your answer.
