Play is one of L.A.’s hidden gems. We were so happy to learn about it. Play is located near the Grove.  Izzy and Teagan stopped in to play and paint. Their establishment is small and cozy. Play offers fun music, art and play classes. We decided to check out one of their open Messy Art sessions. Play offers six Messy Art time slots through out the week. The cost is $8 per child or you can buy an art card for 6 Messy Art sessions for $40 that needs to be used within 30 days.

There are plenty of easels and painting supplies for you and child to get creative. We think Teagan and Izzy painted masterpieces! The art room staff was accommodating and always ready with new paper and extra colors if needed. Worried about wet artwork? You can let your art dry and pick it up later.

There’s a nice area to “play” after your done. You can buy snacks, sit around in one of the many cool chairs and read a book or play with their toys.  They can also host your child’s next birthday party.  Play has it all!  Izzy and Teagan give their “THATSIT” seal of approval.

A little about the book: These 2 mommy authors bring you quotes from moms from “every walk of life” to share their little confessions with us. This book will make you laugh and will probably make your jaw drop, but it’s very fun and entertaining and gives you a look into the world of moms that we can all relate to.

Izzy’s mommy: I find comfort in this this book when I’m feeling a little down on myself and I need a little pick me up. I enjoy reading how many moms including myself are not always perfect and this book brings a little ease to me being a first time mommy. A few quotes from the book that always make me laugh and some that I can relate to, “I pass gas and blame it on the kids” and ”My biggest fear as a mother is being judged by other moms”.
